Weirdest trope of insular cultures is the idea that having tons of friends is required for a normal human; some people on this planet are fine with only a few friends, yo... and it doesn't make them a "loner"

It's just idiots, lazy people and people with development issues thinking like that. I'm introverted, i have my group of friends BUT IF FUCKING NEEDED i can go out of my usual self (not being lazy) and try to make many new "friends".
The hardest part? If i don't need them (i tend not to use people as tools), i will be forced to artificially maintain those relationships by wasting time, money and energy.)
Some people are more natural at that and they have their motivation/dopamine system programmed to make new social contacts because their genetics showed them that having many "friends" is beneficial to survival and producing offspring.
