Actually this open a potentially interesting subplot.
Why they keep his class secret? Do they see him as a some kind of saviour in a female dominated world?
This time he was not misjudged. Is not a shitty ability that is actually OP. These guys KNOW that he is S class.

I mean it has some high tier ability for sure, but like consider his sisters power. Talking to the dead is high A-Tier. His sister is literally invulnerable and and kill people anywhere. It's some tough running up here at the top.

The main issue I have is... How do they know he's an S-class? Hiroto just sat in the box to be tested, so he knows exactly what he was asked to do/what he did, but doesn't have any clue that he's so highly ranked. So what could possibly have happened that caused the scientists to be able to assign such a high rank, while Hiroto himself does not see F-class as being entirely out of line?

He's managed to find a few tricks for using his power, but the interaction with the "new" scientist indicates that the other scientists already know about the "S" ranking, which means that ranking has to have been figured out before Hiroto himself figured out these tricks.

The only thing I can figure is some out-of-context measurement, like midochlorians in Star Wars. They're not measuring what he can do, they're just measuring this power-thermometer that apparently goes really really high. It's rather annoying.

I really wanna see the explanation of WHY he's a Calamity and ostracized like that instead of working with him, his sister can literally instantly kill people with her ability and it's fine...

I imagine a part of it's the fact he's male.
Women sit at the top of the social and power hierarchy of their society because of the disparity in average power of abilities between the sexes. Men are, thusly, heavily discriminated against and treated as second-class citizens.
If it came out a boy of all people was the first S-Class ability wielder and that it worked (as far as we know) by sexually dominating a woman and bringing her to orgasm to sever her soul from her body, letting him then control her or even puppet her body with another soul?

That's a terrifying threat to power structures everywhere. They would have had to strangle him in the crib or something, because the moment he gets any wind of what he could do, he could get it in his head to "take back power" for men everywhere.

It really might just come down to "we like being in charge and he threatens that very concept".

Now, I would expect they would just kill him already and be done with it. But there's a chance that he can't even be killed, given he deals in ghosts/souls already. If they even suspect that, or if they already tried and failed and he just doesn't remember (perhaps something to do with the father dying, thus sparking his stepsister's wrath toward him), simply letting him think he's trash-tier and hated and keep him oppressed and without friends or help would be a way to contain him.

I thought the rating was subjective, based on the evaluation of the particular power, if the power is based in amount of destruction possible and that's somewhat parallel to leaked mana, aura or whatever you can range from S to F with a machine but if it's a bunch of different skills that each do their random thing not always equiparable to an amount of destruction, how tf do they get an objective classification from a machine? Is it a random magical machine?? Is there a power to get an objective rating and they send people to a white room just for the theatrics???

So the MC is probably the reason his sister acquired the instant death ability, a misfire of which probably caused the death of their (his?) father.
His death being the MCs fault suddenly makes alot more sense.

You mean like MC may have put his father soul into an object that sister now has with her all the time (which is why she can use more than one ability)? That would explain a lot ngl

I'm assuming the family has something they know and are putting him down to F class for that reason. Also, isn't this a world where men are below women because of powers or something so would make sense the male researchers can't allow it to be public that the strongest is a man. Final thought is I wonder if him dying would also do something which is why they want him dead because he then can be manipulated by them after he matures and probably as a ghost can just take over anyone he chooses
