She calls his grandma "master"? and those scars plus the skills... is his grandma some kind of yakuza or something? LOL

Damn... that hand from the ground grabbing him is nightmare fuel, I wonder if the mangaka had a nightmare like that.

In the end, it seems like one of those mangas the author created to fulfill their own fetishes.

The scenes rapidly flash one after another, what's the hurry? Take the school part: he has a brief chat with a classmate, fixes his sock (?), and then he's back home again - the whole sequence lasts just two pages.

I find it even stranger how well MC tanked that crowbar to the shoulder. Also, that's pretty sloppy of this cyborg to allow him to get hurt, and let the robbers inside in the first place.
And she just let them go afterwards. IDK how people are giving this manga such a high rating. As you pointed out, the pacing is horrible. Then we have the art that's just ok at best and the story, which is ridiculous (but not in a good way). For a first chapter, this was a complete failure. Nothing about it garners interest.

Is this manga like a monthly release or something? Can anyone shed some insight?
The manga is serialized in Ultra Jump, so yes, it's a monthly magazine.

Haha no Ai wa Mama Naranai! was first published in the January issue of Ultra Jump, on December 18. The next issue is on January 19, so expect it to be uploaded around January 20 at the very least (add +1 day for the west).

It would be really helpful if the Magazine of Publication was added to the page of each manga, with an indicator of whether it is a weekly, quarterly, monthly, bimonthly, etc. magazine. Even Manga Updates doesn't have information like that... which is kind of silly considering it's supposed to be a database. If we could add publication dates, that'd be even more amazing, but since the day of the month changes every time... it would require some kind of code to check Ultra Jump's page to see when the next issue will be published, and that seems like too much work tbh. But at least the magazine would be nice, also considering it's the magazine which determines the demographic of the title (Shounen, Seinen, etc.), and we already have that part covered, it would clarify the "why".
