So I originally wanted to make my comment about how I was right about them being their seniors in class S-pretends, but wrong about my guess that they followed the traditional class s route and went separate ways after high school, creating the drama for our girls on what to do, instead they just became a yuri couple. I also wanted to talk about how they mirror our two girls, with the onee-same beign the smaller and cuter one.

But then I got to the final part of the chapter and that was all thrown out the window.

And then I got to the final page and I am not even sure I am reading the correct manga anymore.

I do not want to kinkshame, but senpai your definition of "we two are happy with each other" seems ...off...

But on a serious note, I forgot about this till I reread the chapter...but senpai invited kasumi and her onee-chan to hang out with the two of them, AND phrased it as a double date...how the hell did they fix this? Did they fix this? Is she actually together with the yandere? Like I can excuse attempted sexual assault or holding her love at knife point in my yandere's, but I draw the line at attempted(?) sexual assault at knifepoint.

Actually, is this yandere x yandere? On my second reread right now I remmebered how in my first read of the chapter, I read "All that could make the flowers more beautiful is if senpai were laying here" as something incredibly yandere, aka her saying "if senpai's senpais corpse was laying in the flowers" here, before understanding what she actually meant...or maybe was my initial read correct? I also didn't realize how possessive the following pages actually were until now.

The second most interesting thing is that this final drastic flashback was preceded by the announcement "there was another letter before ours", and it isn't clear how that palys into the flashback yet. Did the expectations from that letter cause senpai's senpai's feel of betrayal in that final scene? Was the previous letter a warning about the dangers of the roleplay? Was the letter advising to break up if things became as possessive/yandere as this, something senpai ignored and now wants to "warn" our girls girls from doing?

Also I am very happy I didn't read the dynasty chapter tags beforehand, because damn thats a change lol.

Oh, so she's a menhera? That's one hell of a tone shift considering the previous 9 chapters. Can't wait till this fad in yuri dies out. It's fine in like Kyoukano, or what have you, but now you have authors throwing a psycho in there just for the fad.

Sadly you will have to keep waiting, most of us are engaged to see what the author wants to say

This, a hundred times. Sooooo not interested in girls randomly becoming psychos just for the shock value and edginess (and with the author apparently gloating about it, that seems to be the case).

Let's see how it develops, but if it keeps going down this road (and from the translator's notes, it seems like it), it'll be the second major "wow this went from a 10/10 to a NotInterestedAtALL/10 for me" yuri manga for me (the first one being Yuri Is My Job where the "main" characters simply vanished from the story completely).

EDIT: just read full spoilers for Dominant and it seems really bad IMO. I don't have high hopes for this now, but let's see how it goes.

You're already pessimistic about this for no reason. It's completely okay to not be into dark themes when it comes to the stories you like, I for instance would love the darkest most deranged stories and sweetest most childish ones one after the other, but that doesn't mean everyone has to

If this is not your cup of tea, fair enough, but there's no reason to expect this to be bad when the writing has been solid so far. There's nothing that makes dark themes and quote on quote "edgy" stuff worst or less tasteful than sweet and romantic stuff

The author might have something solid to say with these topics and events, and they might do it with the same skill everything so far has been developed. I would suggest to keep an analytical open mind

es cuestión de tiempo, seguramente se exploren temas nuevos con Sayori y Mizuki, para luego tener más desarrollo entre Haruyo y Kasumi donde finalmente se plantearán bien las falencias y conflictos internos de Kasumi

Man, this work has been incredible! One thing that I found interesting that I haven't seen touched on was the discussion of meeting someone online in real life from an earlier chapter. It brings me to my time of roleplaying in online games back in middle and high school, where it was a game distinct from reality.

Having the "S" relationship seems to be something intended to be like a game for the girls, especially when Sumi and Haruyo are still writing the letters. This goes along with what was discussed on page 10, meaning their relationships are supposed to be pretend. It is an escape from the real world, a bond that the girls share only with one another. It feels magical and real in that moment, but it stays in that mystical world.

My thought is that this chapter shows what happens when you take that pretend "S" relationship and bring it into reality. The perfect sisters from the game smash into reality, ripping off their masks and forces them to face how the future crushes a relationship that is focused on a moment in time. Ono has solely been put into reality, while Asai sees it looming in the distance. The magic spell is undone, and what's left is dark and despairing.

A lot of attention is brought to why Asai is saying they are happy despite the conclusion of this chapter. Perhaps things will be sorted out, but I think that she wants to give Sumi and Haruyo a glimpse of reality's affect on their "S" relationship game before it's too late. If their love is purely a game, then they must know it will have to end... And if the love goes beyond that game, then they must prepare for the harsh reality that awaits them, struggles and all.
