Predictions for the next chapters (pure speculation, I haven't looked for raws): the contest will turn into an humiliation fest for Shirota but just before he's about to lose Takamine will throw some insults at him that are somehow supposed to be motivational and he'll make a last second comeback. The annoying girl will begrudgingly acknowledge defeat, only to say that it was just a battle and she won't give up. Shirota will be grateful to Takamine who showed how much she cares for him.

I think that Takamine is just mainly trolling the pyscho lesbo to show her that the MC is really the one for her. I know people are mad at the arc but the author is just setting up a villain to show that the relationship the two have is strong enough to withstand outside drama. Takamine would bail out the protagonist with her power if he really fails she just wants to have him show the lesbo that he’s her top dog. The way the author goes about it is what makes it so controversial as it feels like a unneeded arc. But for people saying it’s the worst writing ever I just disagree. The manga has always been a bit outlandish but is still about the two’s relationship.
