I disagree, the manga made sense so far but now Takamine is having a whole competition that literally has no point except potentially get in the way of what she explicitly wanted.
Of course it's probably some 5D chess bullshit on her part as usual but it's UNNECESSARY 5D chess with literally nothing to gain on her end.
