You're not wrong...but goddamn it's been at least like 5 fuckin years since he retired. The best thing about Ippo taking a back seat is that were getting some really good combinations of characters.
starting to sound like Ippo and his (never quite perfected) mid-Dempsey Roll direction switchesthe first time might work on ricardo, but sendo will have to start adding more feints to avoid counters
Actually it's been more than 10 years and it's already the 21st century. Ippo is almost 30, or he might be already, the time line is a bit vague.Ok, it looks like the author forgot what year this takes place in again(this happened before some years ago). I'm guessing it's only been about 7-8 years after the start so it should be in the late 90s. There were no phones like the one Miyata has back then. Anyway, thanks for the chapter!!!
It wouldn't be more than 10 years later as then Takamura and the other seniors would almost be 40 as they are 8 years older than Ippo (Takamura was 24 when he met Ippo who was 16 in 1989). Ippo currently should be around 25 or 26. Also the phone was a full touch screen as Morikawa did the same thing years ago. That type of phone (full touchscreen with no physical buttons) didn't exist anywhere, including Japan. I was in college in the early 00s and kept up with the new technology then. That would've been headline news if that is existed.Actually it's been more than 10 years and it's already the 21st century. Ippo is almost 30, or he might be already, the time line is a bit vague.
Morikawa can probably be forgiven. Something exactly like that phone still probably didn't exist, but it's not far off. Japan had some interesting mobile phones at the time, and they had a lot of technologies we think of as post 2010s, like NFC payments. He was probably using a flip phone with an actual large touch screen by then.
And Morikawa was in his late 30s. You didn't get my point at all. I'm saying it's not important to Morikawa, this difference of a few years, just like how I now don't remember what year I finally got a PC with Windows. Both the date and the difference between a full or half touchscreen is just a minor detail on context. It wouldn't be more than 10 years later as then Takamura and the other seniors would almost be 40 as they are 8 years older than Ippo (Takamura was 24 when he met Ippo who was 16 in 1989).
