It's even better because Ippo has been around for so long, everyone knows he's humble and honest to a fault.

The moment he said he'd smash Mashiba, they told him to get in the ring, no questions, no clarifications.

I mean yeah, he did ask about Mexico and stuff, but it was all rhetorical.

This time could be really dangerous though. Nobody in the gym can stop these two if they really go at it. Mashiba might end up in the hospital.

It's even worse given that Mashiba know Ippo well enough to tell he's genuinely worried about it and not just posing and bragging. There's no way this sparing match remain casual, Mashiba will go for the blood and Ippo will get carried away

I'm just wondering, if this might be the turning point to bring Ippo back to his boxing career and bring Mashiba and Ippo closer... Why? I have few speculation points listed below

• Mashiba is the person who know his sister best, how pushy&stubborn she can be with her opinions, especially concerning her loved ones health, including Ippo's "punch drunk" diagnosis, that hasn't been actually verified by specialists.
• Confirmation in the ring that Ippo is no "punch drunk", having been the sparring partner Mashiba needed before his match (of course, after letting of some Kumi <3 Ippo related steams out of their systems)
• Mashiba then has a serious talk with Kumi about Ippo and ippos boxing tallent/dedication/career/hopes, wich makes Kumi realise her shortcomings
• Also, Mashibas gym members and Itagaki are there to see this spar, so the whole "Ippo is punch drunk"-lid is going to be Flickered to pieces
