This shit is so ass. Cmon george. At this rate that you're pushing chapters relative to the passage of real time, you have to understand this is not acceptable.

But people getting this mad and saying they won't support the manga anymore is even more puzzling to me.
You fucks support this manga? I've been reading for years and never given Morikawa a single cent. I've only bought two volumes of manga in my 30 years following anime and manga.

AAAAH FUCK YOU GEORGE JUST FUCK YOU AAAAAAAAAAAAH.

An entire fucking year on this garbage fight for the most unsatisfying conclusion possible. Why the fuck would you write Rosario already accepting his defeat, vowing to do it right and come back for the belt. Why the fuck did you need to rehash Mashiba v Sawamura, Mashiba overcoming his demons AGAIN, and accepting Ippo and Kumi. Mashiba better be a fucking cripple or straight up dead, otherwise he needs to retire if he can't beat the champ after he fucks up weight control and admits he didn't really train right for the fight. This was Mashiba in peak condition and you're telling me he couldn't beat the champ with everything stacked in his favour?

AND THATS NOT HOW MOMEMTUM WORKS GEORGE. FUCK.

Now lets see how long George will milk Sendo v Ricardo. Sendo losing is foregone conclusion, but only God knows how George will make it as unsatisying as fuck. See you in 3 years.

Marcus Rosario is now the strongest southpaw fighter in his weight class. He's like Ippo; lasting endurance and tough stamina. Mashiba cannot beat him.

had to happen so ippo can come back

pretty interesting development for rosario too since this is so ironically unfair. he'll likely be a completely different person by the time he fights ippo

This was masterful. I am not sure why you guys are so disappointed. Does everything go your way all the time? Are you always 'winners?' I see two men giving their all, but you guys are worried about, plot to satisfy your ego.
If you looked at this fight and see 2 men giving it their all, you're clinically blind.

Rosario did the exact fuckin OPPOSITE to giving it his all for an entire year in manga form.

damn, shonen readers are going crazy over this

this was completely set in stone from before the fight. cant say i blame people for losing the plot with such long breaks and short chapters though. next one should clear things up

Not only do they waste our time by delaying Ippo's inevitable comeback, but they also waste our time with this bs. Aight time to drop this again. I'll pick it up again when my 5 month old kid has her own family.

Ippo lost because he was too bright
Ryo lost because he was too dark

Volg won because his spirit clearly combined both into Anima Vestra.

Maybe Sendo will represent the only blemish on the real Ricardo Lopez's record. An eight-round technical draw against Rosendo Alvarez on March 3, 1998, which also features the first and only knockdown of his career.

Both of those 2 have a lot of maturing to do.
All you can do is learn and grow from your experiences.

Just remember that rosario came in Japan without proper training because he was sure of victory, in overweight (he had to burn all his stamina just to pass), got beaten up during all the beginning of the fight while hitting his weakspot (his stamina), admitted that he didn't take boxe seriously enough, he would have done way better in real conditions.
And deeeeeespite that, he won anyway !!!!@#%@%
How is that any good lesson !?
If Mashiba cant beat him right here right now, he would have been demolished anyway.

He ran out of gas before someone who had to push his body to his limit just to pass weight control and that had his belly (So his stamina) hit somany times...
If Mashiba had any chances to become champion, then its shit writing for the fight, and if he hadnt, then why did we follow him for ??
Despite everything though, Rosario was a World Champion. Takamura previously drilled home that World Champions are basically magical, their fists are heavy and it takes heavy fists to out them down.

Besides, if Mashiba took the belt from someone irresponsible who slacked off, it would have been like "well the champ was a pushover", despite his prior opponent gassing this champ up. Now Rosario, who regained his determination after expecting a loss, both has respect for boxing and for Mashiba. Now if they rematch, it'll be against someone who's not just a world champ because he has a belt, but someone who has a world champ's mindset

I'm pretty sure it's because of the head damage on that fall, there must be some serious injury.

Right up until his coach jumped in I totally thought it was Mashiba stopping the punch because he noticed Roasario was already KOd on the ropes and the ref was late to notice.
This, I don't understand this descision, Rosario is not defending, and is not leaning on ropes, he's FULL ON grasping on them to stand up, how is this not a stop? What even is this ending for fight. Rosario wasn't a recurring character, I'd be fine with Mashiba losing to somebody like Eagle, to show that he has ways to go, but this fight? Losing to a dirty fighter just by running out of gas? Why Goerge, why? Its like setting up something that will probably be offscreened if not forgotten outright.

Hardly invested if they're reading it on a pirate site and are doing it out of habit.

I'm also puzzled by this development because there wasn't much setup (despite yes, a year of this arc) and it looked as if for once Morikawa was going to ditch his usual theme of talent winning out and the world being unfair. It's not typical shonen fare and never has been.

One thing I would note though, is if Rosario really is just losing because he's out of shape, then it doesn't have much meaning for Mashiba to win now. Losing sucks just as much against an unprepared fighter, but thematically, it certainly wouldn't make sense to win either.

But people getting this mad and saying they won't support the manga anymore is even more puzzling to me. Because they'll be back next arc complaining about something else again, talking about dropping this "garbage" and how Morikawa has wasted another year or something. That's laughable to me, I've been reading this for about 25 years now, with about 30 volumes in ownership, this is nothing, and I see the same old type of commentators every generation giving their same worthless two cents in the comment section of a pirate site/group page.

No offense to those who are actually invested and/or have a cautious take, even if still a bit mad at the development. But you know you're in the minority.
A sensible fucking person, thank fuck
