Yeah, once I was a teen guy watching Ippo & Mashiba go to WAR bc they had completeley different mental attitudes towards boxing, now Ippo can scrounge up to cheer him up with a banner & Mashiba somewhat accepts it... It's been a really good journey.

On the other side of the coin Ippo has made almost nil progress with his relationship with the other Mashiba sibling.

yeah, with their reputation I would prefer a quick but bloody fight. But then again, I'm starved for hard fought battles since very few other "action" manga have had close fights the way Hajime Ippo does them.
