Despite all the people praising or wondering about Ippo's improvements in past chapters, frankly this is the first time Ippo has demonstrated and been noted by someone else to have given a perfect, holistic boxing analysis.
Previously, Ippo had gotten pretty good at analysis, but has always been making only half the connection, or adding on and completing someone else's assessment. This time, he's made a completely independent assessment of not one, or two, but three different boxers, pointed out the difference between all three, while laying out a game plan at the drop of a hat.
I'm not going to say the story isn't dragging, but for what it's worth its not just the same thing over and over again. Not only does this chapter indicate further growth, it's not out of nowhere and is based on very recent chapters, where he's been forced into think about strategy in world title matches and analyzing world class boxers close up, especially Ricardo.
