This was probably my least favorite fight in the serious :/ Something about geniuses rubs me the wrong way, the feel cheap. Like say if Wali puts in as much effort into training as the average boxer he would be unstoppable according to the way he was written, he could learn any boxing technique and how to fight anyone perfectly while using his genius talents. Idk, it just feels like geniuses are unrealistic, people are born with more aptitude and talent then others, but its too much here

@Ca_Calico this was the fight that made me stop reading this series however many years back it was when this came out. I'm only just now giving it a shot again and trying to find where I left off.

i was a hater originally but the finale of this fight was so good i dont care anymore im in tears lmao this shits so goated.
all of ippo's efforts slowly culminating into this win, the nail slowly being hammered in, ippo's slowly returning to the basics of boxing and evolving during the match again and finding new goals during the fight too, slowly and surely advancing his own boxing until we hit the fucking apex of the fight with ippo bringing out the dempsey roll i dont give a fuck anymore this shits so fucking good lmao

THIS FIGHT IS FUCKING AWESOME. Wally (or however they spelled it) is a great example of a boxer with a weird ass style; like Emanuel Augustus and Ben Whittaker, but taken to the extreme. While his natural talent may put some reader's off because it's "unrealistic", I ask those people to research Roy Jones Jr., Prince Naseem, and Willie Pep (especially this guy). Boxers with insane talent aren't unheard of but I do get why some people are pissed, that spider-man shit he did at the corner was out of nowhere, but it's manga so I chalk it up to the game 🤷‍♂️. Overall, I thought the fight was sick and the parallels between Kamogawa and Ippo were fantastic. The fight also shows one of the aspects of Ippo I love the most, his DILIGENCE
