I thought that body would be just an avatar to approach him more easily, kinda like the movie "It follows".
I suppose that would make sense, if she didn't just carry around her entire grim reaper uniform and equipment as well when first meeting him.

(If that were the case she wouldn't have been wearing the skull mask)

Just never marry then, you can still get with someone.
Well this smells like something that might barely make it to 3 volumes, how does this make any sense? Why would he let himself be killed?
Why would she care to kill him now? Why not wait until he is much older? Why would a being as old as creation be so easily flustered? With tens of thousands of people dying everyday, is he really the most important thing in her agenda?
She never said she was THE grim reaper, she said she was A grim reaper, she could be any age, maybe she's actually the same age as him.
Perhaps souls have an expiration date and go bad if they're not reaped properly.

I used to watch a TV show called Dead Like Me. In that one the FL became a reaper after she was killed by a toilet seat from the deorbiting Mir space station. (The other reapers nicknamed her Toilet Seat Girl.) Reapers had to collect a secret quota of souls then they could move on, and the last soul reaped would then take their place. (Reapers had to earn a living in the human world so the FL got a day job at Happy Time Temporary Services, an amusing name for a fairly depressing workplace.)

The FL's reaper team was tasked with reaping the souls of those about to die in an accident. When the FL saved a child instead of reaping her the child's soul began to degrade and corrupt (if I remember correctly from 20+ years ago) until she sadly walked the child's soul to the afterlife.

Leads were Ellen Muth and Mandy Patinkin.

Would've been cooler if she slowly descended into a spiral of madness from her soul corrupting and started killing people.
