wait, Suzukaze gets no salary as a driver of a racing team? and he pays for his transports and accomodations from his own pocket?? isn't that horrible???
I'm afraid this is the reality of being a young pilot. You have to bring money yourself, don't expect receiving some until you really win.
Actually, even at the highest level, a pilot is well paid, but still need a good sponsor to have a chance being selected in a F1 team, except if he's really the very best. That's why a lot of drivers never end in a F1 team even though they were good in F2, while in the same time sow low driver have their chance just because they bring money (that's why you had some Indian or Russian drivers at a time, while there were clearly much better drivers out). And you also have some who are here only thanks to their father buying the team for them (hello Lance Stroll)
