Xi Le failed successfully at convincing Mu Ye lol

Is Wenwen contact supposed to be Mu Ye? I don't remember Xi Le being in love with her, and I don't get impression she was trying to sabotage the relationship just so she had a chance, after all what she said was true, and even if she's in love with Mu Ye it doesn't make sense deleting her contact either since they're friends, so I'm kinds of a confused with that ending

Ok, I rushed through the chapters so I might be wrong, I'm assuming Wenwen is Xi Le assistant, glasses and gray short hair, there's clearly some tension between them, she's young too, so I'm assuming Xi Le is going through the same situation as Mu Ye but is afraid to take action, what she said this chapter was as much to Mu Ye as it was to herself, she clearly put a lot of thought into it.

We're at 53 chapters out of 79, so I'm assuming that in a few chapters either Mu Ye will help Xi Le get her shit together and take action, or Wenwen will finally make Xi Le accept being together since she's clearly too afraid to start it herself.

Edit: it is her assistant, Wenwen actually resigned at chapter 48, I guess she either got tired of Xi Le ignoring her feelings + trying play matchmaker and trick her into date with other people, or she resigned to try force Xi Le go get her back, so I imagine in a few chapters Wenwen will come back and top Xi Le cause she's too much of a coward.

Nope. This story goes Muye and xiaoyu one pair, Xi le and wenwen another pair. Xi Le is not in love with Mu ye. They are friends. Hopefully Mu ye can get Xi Le to get her shit together 🤞 and go after wenwen.

Yeah after rushing previous chapters I saw her, I completely forgot she existed lol, somehow I'm suspecting Xi Le won't do anything and it's Wenwen who will come back and make Xi Le her woman lol

Wenwen is the executive assistant who quit after the blind date. Both Xi Le and Wenwen expected the other was "loyal and faithful", supposedly good, but Xi Le took it for granted and disappointed Wenwen enough to be ghosted.

reiterating it for my own sake to sort it out

We're only a few chapters past neck-deep subtext. Wenwen was relatively open about liking Xi Le beyond mere loyalty, but avoided saying it directly enough to force the topic. Wenwen would defend the romance, patience, and pursuit. Xi Le as always would be critical and cautious about the main couple's relationship and advocate avoiding difficulty. Xi Le's reactions and cynicism are consistent enough to imply she has some lingering feelings for Mu Ye, even hints of jealousy, that she failed to fully let go of. Mu Ye deciding to be direct to Xiaoyu stunned Xi Le because it goes against her values.

So when Xi Le would criticize the main relationship to Wenwen, it was always double or triple entendre meant to put off her assistant who was too indirect to reject with any finality, and to justify maintaining her friendship with Xi Le without taking risk.

It was incredibly harsh to trick Wenwen into having dinner date with the doctor, who both know has an even more tenuous and pointless yearning.

Though Wenwen was bold and overstepping for not taking a hint from a senior, probably for years on end, Xi Le insulted her "face" by pulling that stunt instead of being brave enough for a direct conversation and direct rejection.

Xiaoyu is a acting like a brat. Maybe it's my culture or my age, but the way mu ye acted was pretty clear to me (they even holded hands).
If xiaoyu wanted sth clearer than that, she should have asked instead of being grumpy and rude.
Mu ye said she missed her and got no response, she picked her up at the airpoirt, fed the brat and got a grumpy face in return. I would be pissed if I were mu ye. Loving someone doesn't mean you should allow them to do whatever. Kindness should be responded with kindness even if it was just as friends.

This isn't quite right - Xi Le never expected Wenwen to be loyal, because she refuses to accept that anyone will be. She denies entering into a relationship because that's the only way you can guarantee a relationship won't end in betrayal. Wenwen fully understoods this (we have seen her argue against it), but the fake date was enough of a rejection to make her give up on Xi Le. Neither of them is very happy with this outcome, but equally I don't think it's unexpected for either of them.

Not much I can say lol, so I'll just add that I suspect it's less that Wenwen didn't take a hint, and more that both know Xi Le do like Wenwen, but she's just too much of a coward to act on it, this chapter she pretty much outright said all her fears on why she never accept Wenwen feelings since she is younger.

Only question is why Wenwen resigned, if she really got tired and now Xi Le needs to go pursue her or if it's a ploy to see what she'll do.
