Oh wow the imagery is such a treat! after getting the friend status, I wonder what she felt, I guess she was happy, but then the fear of changing what they have right now for saying too much or looking too deep overwhelmed her, suddenly she wasn't just a kind lady, she was a queen and Alice was trying to invade her territory... Or at least that's what she thought? I think she was afraid of upsetting her.

I like how the witch was sick of being a corporate slave so she just up and quit. She wanted to free and find a form of peace for herself. So as devious as she may seem, I believe there is truth to what she said to her friend.

I wonder if witch-san is trying to help Alice find a similar place where she is free to be true to herself and at peace? Alice was navigating through what seems like a confusing maze that is hard to make sense of, let alone find the way to progress. She may be searching for a sense of purpose or affirmation about what she really wants out of life. Will she ever understand love? Would she be happy if she could just play the piano to her own satisfaction, no accolades necessary?

The art and imagination here is surreal and feels so ethereal. It's wonderful <3

Thanks for the translation! I love this manga: its dreamy elliptical storytelling, unique characterization, and evocative storybook illustration inspired art. The use of Alice and the Red Queen in this chapter was some of the most effective blending of imaginary and real so far.
