Yeah, with him being like that I really can't guess where the author is taking this story but judging from the intro, Aiura gets to tell his tale to the author's in-universe avatar several years later (check chapter 1's first couple pages). At least the author knows how to write a gripping story right until the end, Onimushi's finale was completely unpredictable lol.
