@Serenata true that there are many other players around but nagisa is the only one (imo) who fits the point to be the catalyst if we look back since the beginning. Not just because she was in her last year (since there are others who was in their last year too), but she was the one who got something to lose more than others. I'm talking about her knees, which would cost her career entirely even though it hasn't been shown yet how critical it was for her but its just about time before her doom.

About that she was shown powerful now than connie which yes its also true that connie was built as how u describe her; i think most of the readers forgetting that nagisa was built as such too if u want to think about it. She was, also has her exceptional in size (mostly her tatas, im joking), skills, speed, and talent too; which was shown from the fact that she was her school choice in the tournament, shown from the fact that she was in a recommendation for a school enrollment test, shown from the fact that she was the one that her team look up to, and more that i might have missed. But all of that is also shown in failures; as she lost the tournament, as she got tossed aside for her former rival that instead got enrolled, as she let her team down by losing and skipping the practice, and all that yet she has in fact got it in her (take the coach of her former recommendation school train of thought's overturn about her as a notice) but remains unpolished which makes most of the reader think that she got powerful all the sudden now imo. Then the new coach came while unintentionally brought her an exceptional talent to face for and here she is now. Unlike connie who in fact got it in her and her 'mama' who polished her and her 'old man' to support her on everything which just paved her way into the readers mind that she was the most powerful player that ayano would face and tossed aside all the things that nagisa had.

So when nagisa said that she was equal (now), i agreed. That line was also a catalyst for connie which indeed i expected her to take as an insult. Its best to throw that line on her bare face at a court that she asked a hell for, and I'm sure that it will be something great for connie development in the future. I know u take them as a favoritism, but i just dont see it that way cs if it wasn't nagisa then it would be weird for the ongoing story.

Ps: sorry for the wall of unstructured text shown above.

Hahaha. No, I'm sorry. You don't get to big up your sexy blonde final boss and have her humiliate the dark-haired girl and tell us that she was given all the points she scored only to make the dark-haired girl suddenly become a threat and then claim that your superhuman blonde final boss was the hero of the story. That's not how writing works and even while claiming that Nagisa was the woman to beat you still talk about how Connie could easily have beaten her if she really wanted to. I wanted to root for Connie, but you couldn't stomach making her look like the underdog compared to Nagisa. So it was clear from the start that Connie was going to win this match and Nagisa would never be any real threat. And let's be honest: Given that almost everyone in the entertainment industry, no matter the country, is obsessed with making blonde female characters look like superwomen who dance through life and easily deal with any hardship while making dark-haired female characters look weak and insecure overemotional victims to whom everything is a struggle it has always been clear that Connie would easily humiliate and overcome all of her opponents. I bet you won't even be able to stomach making it seem that Ayano is a match for her until some final point deus ex machina nonsense like the match with Rui.
Now this poor excuse for a match is over hopefully you won't botch the Ayano/Yuika match and I get something worth reading for enduring these last dozen pages of deranged blonde-supremacy obsessed drivel

The author himself admitted Nagisa is his favorite character so his bias in her favor is a confirmed fact. And it shows. She was skunked by Ayano one year before the beginning of the story yet just one year later she became strong enough to beat Ayano and maybe even Connie. That's completely nonsensical.

The worst that could happen now is to have Nagisa forfeit the match due to her knee. It would completely ruin the final match between Ayano and Connie since neither of them could properly defeat Nagisa. It would make for a very anticlimactic finale.

That's what happen when you let favoritism drive the story.

@1idd0kun oh i didn't know that (now i know) but still, i dont think its nonsensical if i consider what she already had like what i have described before. Even if the author is biased, its not that hard nor takes much time to polish someone who already got it in them on the aspect of sports. Ayano and connie has shown much arrogance which was a fatal mistake in sports, speaking of my own experiences on a crucial match tournament. So whoever the opponent is; if they slipped on such thing, then they slipped. Its still made sense for me even if the author was biased on nagisa or not.

Either way, his favoritism affects the quality of the story. Imagine if the finale is Ayano vs Connie. The final match in a sports manga is supposed to be between the two strongest players, yet none of them could properly defeat Nagisa. They aren't the strongest so we'd get a weak final match, an anticlimactic ending.

I guess this could be salvaged if Nagisa wins or if Connie beats her properly, but I don't think that's gonna happen. Connie has to win so the plot involving Ayano's mom can be resolved but the author won't let Connie defeat Nagisa. I'm pretty sure he's gonna play the knee card so Nagisa can forfeit without being defeated, and that will ruin the story.

@1idd0kun i dont think that the author is that shallow cs ayano and connie was put in the 1st year so the author is clearly planning for a long type of sports manga like DNA. Its somewhat true that it might be a weak final match; but this is not the 'final' match, this is only the final match of this year tournament. They're both still keeping their arrogance, and nagisa is playing the part to solve that. They were both strong, strong to even put nagisa on a lose streak if they didn't slipped on their arrogance so I'm not going to call the final match a weak one.

I agree that the author is going to play the knee card; but if i assume that this match is won by nagisa and the next match is ended by nagisa forfeited the match by a score that was less than connie's, then she was still in fact defeated. Well she was deafeated already if connie had not slipped by her own arrogance. I'd call this match is won by connie already. I hope that if nagisa forfeited the match; she would retire and pick her uni plan as how the new coach is, and being an ass. coach or replacing the new coach for ayano/the school's club.

No, it's already confirmed this is the last tournament. So if the author fucks up this match, it will result in a shitty finale. There's no excuses for what he's doing. He let his bias out of control and it's affecting the quality of the story.

@1idd0kun oh didn't know that too, thanks for letting me know. Too bad that this was a short manga, it thought that this could keep going to the world stage and introduce a lot more technique that haven't been mentioned yet. There's still room for development but well; too bad it would end soon, i kinda enjoyed it tho. If this is the last tournament then i agree that the story is kinda whack, and the author should use some other title instead. Like just badminton or something without taking parts of the char name, like DNA.
