In all, a pretty refreshing date to see in action. I can't recall any other SoLs or romcoms I've read that dumped the unathletic one into an actual baseball game, as opposed to batting cages and the like.

I dunno if the manga will stick around long enough, but Class de 2-Banme will eventually dump poor athletically-challenged Maki into a sports festival contest (or class ball festival or whatever the heck the actual name of the thing that spawned that 700-chapter basketball arc is actually called) against the class where the actual baseball club is gathered. Granted, he's much less a beanpole by that time than at the start of the series, but he still gets worse results than here just the same.
How I missed this gem I will never know. Mangaka covered more ground in 15 chapters than the Eternal Dumpster Fire called Rent-A-Tsun has slogged in 315. And more wholesome and beautifully clean art to boot.
