Out of curiosity, why do people translate it as "being hated?" It's not commonly used in English, it should be the phrase "you hate me" or "he hates me." While the passive voice is sometimes used, "being hated" has never been used by any native English author in any English novel as far as I am aware. It's just weird.

This has to be one of the worst dialogues I've read. They make no sense and are becoming so fucking annoying!

There are certainly a plethora of books on Amazon with the phrase "Being Hated" in the title so I wouldn't say it's that uncommon. Although "you hate me" or "he hates me" might be more common, I don't see any fault with "being hated" and I doubt very much that the phrase has never been used in any English novel.

Anyhow, I had to go back and re-read the chapter to see exactly what the ML said. He says:

"I know that I'm hated by you."
"I think it's good that I'm properly hated."
"It's good that I'm hated."

She says:
"That it's good to be hated by someone."
"To say it's natural to be hated."

I don't see "being hated" in the translation I read.

And nothing has changed since they keep getting in their own way. He should just get his willy wet and she should get her pipes plumbed ... LOL. Get it over with already. But we all know that NO SEX will be forthcoming in the near future ... blue balls for all.

Anyone know what series that image on page 2 is from? Feel like I've seen the artist before but I can't recall right now :(

"I know that I'm hated by you" still isn't something people typically say in English, it would be "I know that you hate me." I know that doesn't really fit with the next 2 sentences, but those also aren't very common phrases in English, either. "I think it's good that someone properly hates me" and "It's good that people hate me" fit much more naturally in common parlance.

I also wouldn't say there are a plethora of books on Amazon with that phrase in the title, there are about 3 as far as I can tell, with an additional 3 songs, and some additional books which are clearly not written in English but have translated titles, which kind of proves my point that it's not something commonly said in English. It's an extremely uncommon phrase that sounds weird.

@AnonymousWeeaboo As a American English speaker, I will just have to disagree with your assessment and leave it at that. It all seems a bit nit-picky to begin with.

@FredFriendly I'm also an American English speaker. I can agree that it is nit-picky, it's just something I've noticed across a bunch of different manga and I've never understood why it was translated that way.

Maybe these two cowards can keep dragging each other back long enough to make it to the altar.

Fan translators fall into weird habits with their wording. They sometimes write things you'd never actually say in an english conversation. I think the worst offender is when they refer to somethings as "an existence". Not in the sense of HAVING an existence but BEING an existence. Like "the demon was a powerful existence". Shouldn't they be saying "being" instead?
