This manga is confusing...?
Her back story is sad, she tries to make the best of her life, but she repeated makes bad decisions, (most financial ones) that result in her just spiraling in her current situation.

This is like watching a puppy running away from an abusive owner, jump to the dog's repeated decisions that result in the dog playing frogger in the middle of an interstate highway.

What do you want me to feel manga? I am feeling both sympathetic and also very annoyed.

The juxtaposition of cute girls doing cute things and self destructive behavior is kind of a literary device.
This is going to be more evident in the coming couple of chapters.
