I was thinking the same thing. The novel version looks too..."normal", for a lack of a better term. Our Ojii-san in the manga has much more presence.

I think he came out thin and muscly after his night of pounding orcs, but he recovered back up by the next day I think. So, maybe he's gonna pull another strenuous all-nighter?

It was mentioned back in chapter 1 in a comment that this was an adaptation (page 2 i think), if you never checked that out, aside there is the Novelupdates link in the main page too
