Consider that the Magic in HP is kinda concrete, it not hard to make sense of it with times.
So due to change here Harry at least should be weirdly smart about how he could abuse a spell to the minute of detail kind of deal to screw with thing.
It's the same thing like comic book where characters discovered that their power are a bit more on the fundamental stuff of the world.
