Telling her to stay is the right thing to do! You’re allowed to be a bit selfish! 😔

That's a surprisingly difficult social test for someone who is really introverted. For someone in a position of authority, especially someone not accustomed to being in a position of authority, there's a really fine line between letting someone know what you want and pressuring them to do what you want.

Shouldn't the aunt have told Haru that herself? That's where the problem starts for me (but maybe I remember their relationship wrong).

They just use Haru-chan. Don't let her go to those people! It's an unfair game

Really, Haru needs plainly to see that she wants not only for Midori to do something for herself, but for that something to be something that Haru wants for herself.

I mean to be fair, Midori ultimately made the right decision. She took the girl in but if the actual family is making an offer to take her in, it makes sense to at least bring up the offer at least once. It's not like Midori insinuated she should go or anything.

I get what Haru wanted from that exchange and of course Midori kind of dropped the ball not saying she liked having her there, but as far as mistakes go, Midori is getting better.

I just hope they talk it out instead of that usual drama arc where she moves out and then comes back ...

this is so well written that i have zero complaint, damn, aint that refreshing
that transition between day and night, skipping the chat with the auntie, was a great touch, it captures her being so lost in thought that she lost track of time and location - this is used quite often in animation and film, but not used enough in manga
anyway i hope this gets an official english release, i want to buy physical volumes tbh

@sirflimflam I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking that. Turning the offer down without consulting her would be just plain incosiderate, especially if you care a lot about someone's opinion. Hopefully, one of them will realize the misunderstanding quickly.

I can live with this conflict, but I also don't want this spectacularly-written manga to waste too much time on it. I've seen too many good stories pull the brakes for simple misunderstandings.

It's not up to Midori, but Haru. But if anyone should have dibs on Haru, it's Haru's aunt, not the girl whom her mother knew briefly in middle school with bizarre attachment issues. Overall I agree with what Midori said, but she should've said it more confidently.
