This girl has less intelligence than a pissant. Spending the day with a guy other than your boyfriend (that's a date, isn't it?), particularly one who you've already rejected, is only going to give him hope, regardless of what your intentions are. For sure he is not going to give up on her. And this guy really is a scumbag. It boggles my mind why girls would fall for him.

he straight up says he wants to be with her but then is like "no, I need to mature the fuck up" which says to me he has decided to move on much as he doesn't want to. I don't really see her comment as she would date him, rather that he would be more approachable if he wasn't a surly dipshit all the time. but, you know, in her typical awkward sort of way

Yeah I applauded him for that. He realizes he needs to stop being a piece of shit and stop going after someone else's girl and in the end he actually helped her. The "different life" comment to me sorta said there was a possibility because she could have fallen for him, but it was a masssive what if.

Anyone who thinks that this creep has given up on making Koharu his girlfriend is either as naïve as she is, or hasn't read very many shoujo manga with this clichéd and overused storytelling plot device.

Also yeah Shimura leveling up as a human being is a good thing! Helping her to get a present not because he wants to woo her and be by her side, but because he genuinely wants things to go well for her, even if it means she's not with him. That's a tough thing to do, and good for him for gaining that ability.

Of course, knowing she has zero interest in him probably helps. But hey, it's the truth.

Jfc the author just couldn’t help it and brought the bully back to be alone with her again.. even after they just went through all that. The male MC never had this much inner dialogue about why he likes her nor is he ever fucking present lol he’s always gotta be somewhere away like the last panel. No wonder this story ends in a few more chapters. It’s been disappointing from a writing stand point.

I can understand why Koharu said that comment about his smile.... She used to have a crush on him when they were kids. Its obvious she is remembering those olden times.
