So true, my favorite drink is water! I can’t concentrate if I don’t drink water. Unfortunately water in my country is expensive. You can’t drink the tap water, and in restaurants you always need to pay for water.

I am curious to try the real water from this chapter.

Edit: One way of saving money is to always bring a bottle water everywhere. But restaurants usually have rules that you can’t bring outside drinks, so I usually will hold my thirst while eating then wait until I am outside the restaurant to drink my water.

I literally couldn't imagine not being able to drink tap water.

restaurants in france actually offer free tap water.
honestly enhances the dining experience, as it allows you to quench your thirst with the water and enjoy the other drinks

Is that unusual in Europe? In the US its standard that you can get water form any restaurant or fast food, and tap water must be fit to drink by law.

@ Piime: Thanks for the Chapter! You always do such fantastic work!

Can't speak for all of Europe, but in at least one European country, if you ask for water, restaurants will charge you for mineral water. McDonald's being one notable exception (unless you ask for mineral water, they sell that too).

here in germany, it is mostly up to the restauranteur to decide that. We sadly don't have a law that mandates it and I envy the french for theirs.
The EU at least has plans to make it mandatory in the near future

Indonesian tap water is not drinkable. In fact, it’s outright detrimental if you do; if you don’t get poisoning, you get parasites. Back then you can get rust too in the tap water. At best, you can bathe in it or wash veggies. There are no plans to make the tap water drinkable.
