What makes Yuki no Shingun such an interesting song is that it has a very upbeat melody (making it a very popular song), but the lyrics express discontent towards war (so it was banned during World War 2)

Considering how the lyrics straight up said how fucked the soldiers are, wouldn’t do wonders for war morale if you’re cheerfully singing how you’ll be a popsicle on the ground by next week latest.
