After learning about the story with Mamoru and the book, these sorts of chapters kind of re-contextualize his "Elite NEET Sage" moments to me (not in a bad way). As if forcibly trying to put a spin/invert what he is doing. Which results in lots of dumb/amusing moments. Idk, have thought that for some time now.

This is actually kind of fun. We did this during summer in northern Greenland (they call it the "polar bear plunge") and while you don't want to stay in the water long, it's actually quite refreshing. We all sat by a bonfire afterward and cooked twisty bread (long strips of bread dough with lots of butter wrapped around a stick) while we dried out. 10/10, highly recommend.
(Note that despite it being the summer, it was only a few degrees above freezing there. This was at what's now called Ptuffik Space Base up around 76° north. You can't do it in the winter because the bay freezes hard enough you can drive on it.)
