Am I the only one who thinks Mamoru is one of the kindest characters in all manga? Is it just me or was this the first arc?

Funny how a manga ostensibly about a pair of useless neet siblings is actually packed with valuable life lessons. I always wonder how many of these interludes and stories are drawn from Yoshida Satoru's life experiences. He's so good at capturing these fleeting moments.

He's an adult completely freeloading on his parent's kindness. This is not nice. The nuances are why this manga is so good. You can be kind but also be a freeter who wears the same sweatsuit everyday.

To be fair, it's somewhat implied that the only reason he maintains the NEET life is because of his sister. She's been slowly coming out of her shell and being out-and-about, so he might actually leave it behind at some point.

That said, maybe he should consider a career in family counseling, he's gotten a pretty good track record so far...

What a great chapter. His teaching ability is quite good. He tried to do it on a level she'd easily understand. It's wasn't completely successful but he didn't push it either way. I really enjoyed the father's engagement in this lol

He was, like, super focused on work, to the point of near-neglect, had the whole realization of, yes he was providing for his family, but at what cost, if I recall. He also really looked down on the NEETs. He was sorta like a parallel for the old man character whose wife left him because he was a workaholic, too.
