That "counting down the hours until your weekend is over" was me at my old job. Wasn't a call center but there was a lot of long hours with very little payoff, and eventually it was affecting my moods on the weekends, so this chap was a bit too real. Especially when Shima was watching TV and stopped enjoying it. Glad I got out even though it meant moving back home.

Coincidentally the place went under as soon as I left, so the move turned out to be a prescient one

About a month ago, someone made a comment about the amount of "poop" jokes, so I decided to re-read and count a bunch of different things.

Haven't gotten that far yet in re-read. Slowed down around 600-800 chapters in, some of the chapters reminded me of depressing things irl, so I have been on-and-off with it. Plus, I had other things I was doing. I don't think he has appeared/been referenced yet. Though, there was a mention of a different "Nishi" character on chapter 778. Made note of it for this reason. I think he appeared in that on chapter where Endou thanked him randomly for something small/forgettable in school.

That's how I recall it too. He first showed up in 1136. Which was followed up in 1155.5.
He makes a couple of appearances after that and then just kind of became part of the crew in 1240.
