Pretty sure this is the first time the mother hasn't been insufferable. Maybe shes finally seeing that her kids are good people and thats more than most. It's rare to see an emotionally warming chapter with Haruko and her mother.

There isn't enough information to say definitively whether Haruko knew what was going on or not. From chapter 1431, we can see that she can be quite perceptive, so I am hesitant to believe she wasn't aware.Someone explain to me how the fact that Haruko is so stupid she can't even recognize a person asking the same question twice is wholesome
It feels like we are approaching the end of another volume, which always seems to be where the longer heavy hitter chapters end up. I'm expecting next week we'll get another multi-page chapter and the afterword chapter.at first i want to complain a little bit since the update is not as many as "usual"
but eh heartwarming enough.
thank you for the update.
there's also her guilt of not working and feeling like trash, like her approach to people is like why she would judge or more like everyone is better than her just because they work (mentioning from that chapter were she was trying to get the paperbag of the korokke she had)There isn't enough information to say definitively whether Haruko knew what was going on or not. The wholesome part is that, despite the dementia, Haruko treated this person as a person, instead of as a problem that needs to be handed off to someone else, as Ishii-mama was so close to doing. This kind of behaviour is Haruko's ongoing theme seen in her other relationships with Yuki, Akane, and Tomoharu. Where they were each ostracised for having perceived problems, which Haruko ignored, befriending them anyway.
The part where Haruko is dumb, leading her to not understand the gratitude, is that she hasn't caught on that most people aren't able to do that. She probably has no idea that elder abuse is alarmingly common.
yep, I have met older people like that (helped a little in a place for old people), one of my parents is starting to fall, so I dread this moment, Haruko pure attitude was so soothingThis chapter hits hard in the feels. It likes to gut punch you unexpectedly sometimes(emotionally).
