Sorry to burst your bubble, but you've turned them into 1st graders instead of the 12 year old 6th graders that they are. Sure, if they were 1st graders, I wouldn't even expect them to be thinking about dating but at 12 years old they are capable of a much wider range of emotions, and more capable of making really stupid decisions.
