I’m still relatively new to this so I’m always learning, improving, and also cross-referencing scanlations done by other people.

They actually do need the kids as soldiers or cannon fodder, right? But they pick four of the most physically active members. They don't go for the middle-of-the-pack ones, or the charismatic ones with cults of personality built up around them to nip any potential rebellions in the bud (unless the sports team members are the charismatic ones with cults of personality built up around them...)

Point is, ain't it extra dumb to have the strong-bodied ones go off and get killed to prove a point?

So the way I’m see it is they specifically sent these guys because they are all the “best” in their fields (they were all aces cept for glasses).

The kingdom doesn’t want actual fighters the want dolls that will listen to orders and die

The only exceptions are the saint and the “hero” as they are naturally gifted and they’ve been kept isolated from the rest of the summoned.

I feel inclined to point out that Swords ARNT HEAVY! A normal sword weighs 2-3lbs so if the SPORTS people are having trouble lifting that then the whole class is f’ed…

If a sword and a short sword at that was heavy the it would literally be useless as it would probably be more ridged thus more likely to break, cost too much materials making it expensive, and unwieldy due to it’s weight….
