Actually most western swords weigh pretty much the same or even less than Japanese ones. At least ones actually used for anything other than ceremonies. Probably in sub 1kg to 2kg max range. With more of them being between 1 and 1.5kg...

Yeah, all a heavy sword does is tire out the person carrying it. Source: binge-watching Forged in Fire, where the lighter sword usually wins the competition.

No. A Medieval long sword is roughly the same weight as a katana. Most swords are around that weight, with some small and nimble ones being lighter, and larger two-handed swords being slightly heavier. But not so much that even a weak girl couldn't lift one. That 5 kilo bag is much heavier. European swords were also just as sharp as Japanese ones.

Why is she surprised the super high-stat knife cuts well?
