I would guess that since he said his siblings are there, and they were the 2 people that directly tried to kill him, he figured it would be the quickest way to find them, but if this school thing last more than a few chapters for him to run into them and crush them into the ground for trying to kill him, it would just be dragging the revenge so it can do the same by the numbers school arc that 95% of isekai and fantasy series do. If you have the power to raise people in the air as high as you want, and can stop/deflect arrows /other flying projectiles, then basically the only threath you have are mages/wizards. Everyone else you can just throw high in the air to an altitude which either breaks their bones or kills them from the drop.
Basically the most OP skill from that perspective. If you can just raise a person to air so they can't use their feet, you basically already won.
Also one other thing would be to control just a floating mass of water (or some other liquid), and just force that into peoples faces and drown them in dry land.
But I bet we wont see anything interesting done with this power.
MC could just steal sh1t from corrupt nobles easily. Just float everywhere like magneto. If you wanted you could do something very interesting/entertaining with this power.
But sadly this protagonist is as generic as they come it seems.
