It's odd that the MC just didn't come to the conclusion that he had to become a monster to survive. When the goddess of a world literally discards you and sends you to die a in monster-filled dungeon, it should be evident that the world is out to get you, literally, no if's, and's, or but's. A lot of philosophical and religious questions should be answered at that point.

The only thing pathetic about it was the reason he was there: getting paid by some doofus to capture Seras. Otherwise he died fighting, which is, with 100% certainty, the way he wanted to go.
kind of. I think he really wanted a good head to head fight rather than a sneak attack by an abnormal skill. even if he was gonna get one shot, being paralized and poisoned was barely a fight if you ask me. I'd be pissed

Perhaps. On the other hand, it's a world of magic. People there ought to think a little differently. They would know from early age that death may come in myriad, weird ways. Kind of like WW1 soldiers in RL might not have wanted to die from inhaling poisonous gas, but they would have known it's a plausible possibility.

Is this manga getting substantially worse, or is it the translation? I was on the other translation up till recently.
