This chapter diverges from the source. The human face wasn't the one to signal the stampede and the location is different but the manga will get us to the same place eventually.

I was about to post how did something paralyzed do tgat and youve now answered that. This folks is why filler and changed events from source material can be dangerous as you introduce plot/world holes.

It said in earlier chapters that his paralyze range is like 15 or 20 meters (can't remember). In either case, that thing only attacked the rock that Eve threw a couple meters away (it shows the exploded bits of the rock just feet away from the thing). There's no fucking way that math adds up. His range for paralyze would have to be like a mere 5 meters for it to get into his range as well, and we know it's at least triple that.
