Yes i was confused about that. How does he owe you when you surrendered and also used something that you know would backfire?

Seems like she just wanted to sound cool but ended up making no sense. If the heavenly demon wasn't your father and haven't given you resources to begin with, you would've been lost to many people. Or possibly even died.
