HOLY SHIT. THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SHIMAZAKI'S PICTURES AND HIS DRAWINGS IS SUCH GOOD STORYTELLING!!!! According to Shimazaki's sensei, photos reflect people's inner worlds. and Shimazaki's photos are all images of figures watching in the distance, potential weapons, potential areas to dispose a body...its everything his training and previous life instilled into him. It'd a world filled with danger and enemies where you stay alert or wind up dead.
IN CONTRAST, Shimazaki says, people protect their hearts with dreams. Violence can't reach the human heart in the same way. And art is a vehicle for dreams to be expressed. Shimazaki's drawings are of bison, birds in flight, sunflowers, a warm meal, a sleeping roommate, a sunset. these are the things Shimazaki wants to see. this is the peaceful world he dreams about. There's something so achingly lovely about how rough and unpolished and earnest his drawings are, compared to the perfectly focused, perfectly real photos

Man, I'm this thin on holding back commenting LEL on every chapter.
It's such a spammable name: LEL.

:nyoron:
