I'm kind of disappointed Edil lost his wings. However, this chapter doesn't really tell if he lost his awakening as well. Helck and Cless have (more or less) normal human bodies on the outside, so being awakened can't be judged based on that. Edil definitely did awaken, even if he needed the push, since he retained his wits far better than any other artificially awakened, to the point of not wanting to hurt Hyura even after Mikaros seemingly detroyed his mind. So, simply returning him the human body shouldn't automatically take away his hero powers, at least all of them. If it did, however, I don't see as good a future for him and Hyura together. We know for a solid fact Hyura only respects the strong, and a regular human would never be that for her, apart from mentally. However, trying hard only goes so far when years go by. It might keep her amused for a while, but not in the long run. If Edil remained a hero, even without the wings, things would be totally different. He could keep up with Hyura, and that would be all she needs.

@Kaarme
Her character sheet says that she "doesn't hate men that tries their best" (obviously an understatement for "she likes") so even if he lost his awakening, Hyuura would still be interested. Anyway I don't he lost it, throughout the manga it is strongly implied that Edil managed to become a true hero, like when vamirio told Mikaros about the willpower of the true heroes (as opposed to the artificial puppets).

Anyway if EdilxHyura still doesn't happen in the sequel, we riot.

@meinburn I tried to address that "doesn't hate men that tries their best", but apparently I failed. What I mean is that it can't go on forever if he doesn't have what it takes physically. He would break down sooner or later, and Hyura would also lose faith in it (in his potential). It'd be just the same bullshit as saying that hard work can replace talent. When you look at their history, Edil was dead set on catching up with Hyura. And he did. Hyura also noticed it, and she liked it, despite the dude being much, much weaker initially. If you took all that way, that is, including the potential for it, they couldn't possible keep living for old time's sake alone.

Anyway, I choose to believe he's now like an ordinary human hero, without wings, but with a power that can't be ignored. He just needed some fixing to remove the new world corruption that had mutilated his body to be the dark mess. If he did lose his hero powers entirely, it would mean Azudora did it on purpose to make sure humans aren't too powerful. That wouldn't be like Azudora at all.

... man it's rare that a manga ending just puts this HUGE grin on my face. I'm sad that it's over but the Author took his time to make sure to make a great epilogue ... something that is sadly super rare for a Series.

Thanks for the translation.
That's some pretty nice groundwork for the sequel.
Thumbs up from me as well.

Actually nice epilogue. Its the anti-SnK, where an already bad ending got made worse by the extra chapter. Here an already good ending got even better!

7d chess Raphaed is back on the menu, he is just too much of a tsundere to admit he was rooting for Helck the entire time.
