@PramTheOracle Yeah, the implication through this whole series is that we didn't remotely see the empire's true power, since all their most powerful forces were busy fighting whatever the threat is from the north. (An onslaught of new world organisms, maybe?) That'll probably be explained further in the sequel.

Im surprised a through and through great manga like this is not more popular, I mean there are 1 or 2 things I dont think are "great", but what makes this outstanding is nothing is bad - not a single thing. The worst I can say is the author overdid it during the final battle with the escalations and it screwed up the pacing, but that was not "bad".
