Ranking threats by grades is videogame logic, or highschool logic.
I don't like that, it cheapens the structure of the plot by explaining it as if it was for children, in my opinion.
The author should start using maps used for real world conflicts from newspapers. Maybe make them simpler, but they already use color coding and other useful tools that make them easy to understand...
I'm aware I'm trying to demand stuff outside of the intended demographic, but I believe the ranking system creates a power creep, making the story less engaging.
