There is also the fact that i doubt MC has any romantic feelings for any girls.

I too fell that it would only become relevant after a time skip of sorts (though I prefer the variety of "many small timeskips whenever the party's travelling or preparing a plan we've been privy to" than a huge "the time has come" timeskip).

Finally a rank up he deserved. I really hate when the story keeps dragging the protagonist's rank just for some cliches and trope. There's even a manga where the MC remains an F rank even after saving the world thrice or twice. That's stupid.
