Wow, did not expect him to ask for a pardon for his rents but I guess t fee territory couldn't be managed properly plus his siblings. Assuming Allen is going to have to fight the sealed beast. Should be a helluva fight.

Thanks for the tl

A corrupt noble, imprisoned for his crimes, showing remorse?! What is this, some sort of good writing?
Good writing, located here, in this room?

... yes.

... may I see it?

No.

(I don't know why this is what I wrote. This series is great.)

Hmm, while i can understand Kiel wanting a pardon for parents so his sister can be happy, him crying seeing his parents after they left him for dead is just not something i can understand. Not to mention how they harmed his friends.

I personally would never forgive them.

It might be tears of relief, because if the parents didn't learn their lesson then it would have all been for nothing.

Guy crying in the background is funny. Is that the priest guy who's been forcing Kiel to be pope?
Wasn’t that krena s dad?

Yes, it's Kiel's second in command, and the one running the entire clegy until they have taken out the Demon King, and Kiel commits fully to the job.

The King had no choice to allow the pardon because if he didn't the clergy could refuse to heal the royal family, or even call him out publicly to get him deposed from the throne.

I know right, also the before and after pictures are insane. Carbony lost weight and looks like he aged 40 years in just 10years, bro's balding.

It was an interesting turn of events, I don't think he has to forgive his parents but giving them the pardon for his reward shows a lot for his strength of character. I'd have to re-read to get a better understanding of his feelings, but I like this turn of events.

In the light novel the scene with Keel's parents was even more intense. The moment his parents were brought to him Keel exploded in rage seeing his parents chained and treated poorly, it was to the point that the soldiers were completely intimidated by him. Then he immediately proceeded to heal their wounds, which is when
the bishop dude from the church started praising Keel while crying.

I see. Still, for him to feel such attachment towards those that disowned him and left him to die. Its just bewildering too me. They are horrible people who did just as bad if not worse too others. This is the least they deserve.

What we deserve is often far more than we ever receive. You can't know what forgiveness can do for someone, being able to help someone even when they've harmed you.
People aren't usually "evil" by intent, they become evil by action. Over time, and with enough action, and you'll get someone evil through and through... when someone is stuck in that spot, sometimes just having someone reach out can be what they need to see what they've become.

Not always, of course. Some people revel in their actions. Even so... trying to offer them a hand (genuinely, not in a fake way) is still good for you. It allows you to let it go and move on - to put your mind back to your own life, friends, dreams, and not spend time in hatred against this person.

As an aside, it's kind of interesting seeing how western culture has shifted on this over the years. We used to have a much stronger focus/respect for honor, and there was a culturally accepted thought that forgiveness was an honorable thing to do. That has changed over the last 100 years or so while we, as a culture, have turned more to focus on ourselves individually vs as a people.

Not 10. It was 10 years since his son saw him when he was kicked out. It’s probably only been 3-4 years, 5 max since Allen had 2 years at the academy, went to war in the elf nation, and then spent probably a year or so grinding in the s rank dungeon.

It's not this series' style but wouldn't the corrupt nobles (who were imprisoned for being corrupt or whatever; its been a while I lowkey forgot) who are immediately handed power again just... pull the same shit? Aren't they at least gonna put a few failsafes in case they act up again?

Also, isn't the pacing of this half-chapter kinda weird? Why's this in the middle of the infiltration episode?
