I believe nanahoshi's speech bubble on pg6 should say "senpai, so it means you're the knotweed plant?"
Also, Ryotaro japonica is probably referring to the name of the bug, which is supposed to be popilia japonica (japanese beetle).
Meanwhile, Persicaria hydropiper, the one dubbed as water pepper, is the one Mikage's referring to. The one with spicy leaves.

@esther_locked the plant is named "Reynoutria japonica" and it's indeed Japanese knotweed. The bug species that eat them is called "Aphalara itadori".
Also no, Nanahoshi does in fact say bug.
