If I remember correctly. I'll spoil some, I remember the potion is for the princess cause she's marrying someone older than her. Turns out the person marrying her is only marrying her because the princess reminds him of his old wife who died and he actually wasn't looking for a relationship, he just wanted to leave her with an inheritance. Princess falls for him anyway.
MC does end up with the knight, I forget when, but she ends up moving in with him too.
Then in volume 2 of the LN another princess (?) Iirc admires the MC. So she wants to be a witch like the MC. Turns out you have to be born with the power to be a witch and it's dwindling, so there aren't actually many left in the world. Anyway, turns out someone has been spreading a failed love potion around and hurting people since it wasn't properly made. Blah blah blah drama MC is blamed. Blah blah blah more drama. Turns out the other princess actually can be a witch and she had spread a love potion she was attempting to make. Some political stuff later, MC ends up taking her as an apprentice. There's more but I forgot...

I read the LN one last year or so and added the manga to my list when I found out it had one. Didn't read it since it was abandoned, but now I'm up to date with the manga as well.
The manga's missing out on a bit of introspection, like pretty much all LN-to-manga do, but overall I think it does a good job adapting the story.
Sir Typical Knight is pretty much that (which works for the premise), but Rose is a bit on the special side. She's adequately different from normal people. I like how she manages to be both greedy and shy.
