I really enjoyed that. It wasn't afraid to get wacky with it, but I feel it's earned. After all, what do you all think would happen if a giant tongue licked the planet and sent Earth spinning? You should expect gravity to be fucked.
In the end, Remina (the girl) was overly passive for me. The story was a great metaphor for sexual assault and autonomy, with some insanely disturbing imagery (Planet Remina's surface is pure nightmare fuel), but I would have liked it more if Remina had more of a personality.
I notice people are annoyed that the hooded figure wasn't an alien from planet Remina. I get that, but it's also clear that was never the intention from Junji Ito. The lick with that grotesque tongue, and the horrendous eyes are meant to resemble Planet Remina - so as to drive home how identical their actions are.
Overall, a really entertaining and horrifying read. Only downside is MC's personality being annoyingly bland.
