Huh, that's a pretty bizarre ending. I thought the KKK guy was personification of planet Remina, since when he licked the real Remina the planet Remina also licked the earth.

So, the connected name is nothing, obviously. The planet probably realized how much lifeforms are in the earth and decided to come here. The earth was probably the best candy or food they ever taste for long time.

I hope the 'Extra' didn't make them suffer or anything.

@Innermat A fully organic planet that can travel at superluminal speeds? With what we know of physics, yeah, i think there is zero chance for that being somewhere in our/this universe.
Problem is, Remina wasn't from the same universe but from a a different with completely different rules, so here's to hoping we don't get any extrauniversal visitors.

@xsaderr12 Considering it's a Junji Ito story, take the fact they're still alive at the end as a happy ending.

The shelter only having 1 year of supplies is hilariously unrealistic.
These people are rich enough to build a house and bunker that survives the planet exploding but they skimp out on food? naw.
With all the hilariously impossible stuff happening in this story its not unlikely that they will just eventually crash into a new planet and live their life there.
This is surprisingly like the most wholesome junji ito story

The girls age was never stated I think but the planet changing course like 16 years ago tells me it started coming for earth when she was born.
Either she really was somehow calling it in and her death would have stopped it or her being given that name somehow alerted it.

Yeah the simp having random alien powers came out of nowhere and went nowhere.

No wonder he was so educated.

Wait2 wasn't the mask guy already there from the start, or did fanclub guy stole the mask, continue the "noble pursuit"? Whatever, theyre kinda doomed anyways

I really enjoyed that. It wasn't afraid to get wacky with it, but I feel it's earned. After all, what do you all think would happen if a giant tongue licked the planet and sent Earth spinning? You should expect gravity to be fucked.

In the end, Remina (the girl) was overly passive for me. The story was a great metaphor for sexual assault and autonomy, with some insanely disturbing imagery (Planet Remina's surface is pure nightmare fuel), but I would have liked it more if Remina had more of a personality.

I notice people are annoyed that the hooded figure wasn't an alien from planet Remina. I get that, but it's also clear that was never the intention from Junji Ito. The lick with that grotesque tongue, and the horrendous eyes are meant to resemble Planet Remina - so as to drive home how identical their actions are.

Overall, a really entertaining and horrifying read. Only downside is MC's personality being annoyingly bland.

9/10
