It's an Isekai (possibly gender swap) and in one of the chapters the mc goes to a haunted arena with a their big wolf and run into a kid that is being constantly covered by the wolf's saliva throughout the chapters his in and the mc eventually finds a weird room with a recording(?).

Kinda sounds like In the Land of Leadale. It's not genderswap and there isn't much dog saliva, but otherwise it fits.
