I can't remember the title of this particular series the world is invaded by gods that behave kinda like kaiju. Most of them head to Japan and there seems to be issues when people interact with them, an initial example given in the people that interact with one of the gods keep liquefying because looking directly at the gods seem to be hazardous to baseline humanity. The main character is a woman that wants to hunt gods in order to avenge her friend's death that went to see the aforementioned god. The woman wants to also keep people from looking into her eyes. There is also a government bureau that is tasked with keep track of the deities in Japan and determining if there are ways to neutralize or kill them. There is a chonky cat with wings. Most of the that have arrived in Japan seem to reside in one quarantined district. The heroine may be heavily cursed or possessed.
