help with yu-gi-oh manga please!

im trying getting into yugioh and i wanted to read the original manga first however in every site, including here, theres a huge chunk of chapters missing, cap 40 skips all the way to 279!
i tried googling it, and its all useless nonsensical AI generate answers and nobody seems to be talking about it on reddit
am i missing something here? idk how can such popular manga just vanish like this

I guess you are referring to the colored version, to be clear the manga was fully translated in English by Viz Media, Mangadex doesn't host rips of official releases

getting into the story or the card game?

I used to play the OG card game a lot back in high school, and I didn't even read the manga at that time.
and as far as I know, the game is quite different from the story.
I didn't watch the anime, and later I only read the Millenium World part of the manga, because the art was already much better.
